The YSR Congress has claimed that within a day of creating an e-mail account, feereimbursement@ysrcongress.com, hundreds of grievances have been received from students suffering from improper implementation of the fee reimbursement scheme in the state.
In a statement here on Saturday, party deputy leader in the Assembly M Sucharita and coordinator G Srikanth Reddy said that their party would fight on behalf of students for ensuring reimbursement of their fee if they sent mails to the mail ID created for their benefit.
They said that it was unfortunate that though the size of the state budget was Rs 1.61 lakh crore, students were being denied the facility.
The fee reimbursement scheme, started by the late YSR to help poor students have access to higher education, was being systematically watered down regardless of the fact that such a measure would hurt the interests of students, they alleged.
“The government has remained unmoved even though the YSRCP has organised hunger strike thrice on the matter,” they said.
