YSRC honorary president visits agricultural fields at Pendalwada village in Jainad mandal
YSR Congress honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma on Saturday demanded compensation of Rs. 10,000 per acre for loss of standing crops in Adilabad district during the current flood. She said she would represent the matter to the government as soon as she got back to Hyderabad.
Ms. Vijayamma had visited agricultural fields at Pendalwada village in Jainad mandal here to make a first hand assessment of the loss. She also interacted with farmers to learn about their woes before talking to the media.
The YSRC leader said farmers had apprised her about the delay in the construction of the inter-State Lower Penganga Project on the Penganga river which would effectively control floods in the river. She said she would also represent to the government asking it to take up the matter with the neighbouring Maharashtra State.
“I do not know if the government will act on it but, I promise to that Jaganmohan Reddy will construct it once he comes to power,” she said. “Jagan will also take up lift irrigation scheme as demanded by the farmers,” she added.
