Jagan out, alarm in rival camps-Indianexpress

Written By news on Thursday, September 26, 2013 | 9/26/2013

The release of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has raised concern in all other parties in Andhra Pradesh (AP).
The Congress has more or less given up hope in 13 districts — nine of coastal Andhra and four of Rayalaseema — after agreeing to the formation of a Telangana state. Its game plan to tie up with the TRS and sweep Telangana is also in jeopardy.

If YSRCP contests 20 Assembly seats in and around Hyderabad — it could upset the calculation of the Congress and the TRS.

Wednesday morning, hardly 12 hours after his release, Jagan had a glass of juice and rushed to meet visiting party MLAs. They discussed the political situation in the state and the YSRCP organisation and structure and its role in the anti-bifurcation agitation. Political commentator Telakapalli Ravi said N Chandrababu Naidu was not so comfortable openly supporting the anti-bifurcation agitation and as such, Jagan was well-placed to take over its leadership.
"The last bypolls were held when Jagan was in jail and still YSRCP won. Out of jail, he is an even bigger threat to the TDP. The Telangana issue has consolidated the position of Jagan in Seemandhra,'' he said.
