Why Is CBN Going To Delhi?

The TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu's sudden plan to visit Delhi at this juncture has raised many eyebrows in political circles. 

After completing the first phase of his "Telugu Atma Gourava" yatra in Seemandhra, Naidu held confabulations with senior party leaders where he reviewed the prevailing political situation in the state.

His plan to visit Delhi has given rise to suspicion in his rival camp because it coincides with the CBI's finishing touches to the final set of charge sheets in the alleged illegal assets case against YSR Congress Party President Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The bail petition filed by Jagan is also coming up for hearing on Sept 18 when the CBI will also be filing its counter.

"Chandrababu should disclose why he is going to Delhi at this stage, leaving his so-called Atma Gourava yatra midway. It is known to every one that he has been trying very hard to see that Jagan remains in jail," the senior YSRCP leader Ummareddy Venkateswarulu said. 

Ummareddy was once considered a close confidant of Naidu when he was with the TDP.

He made a scathing attack on Naidu for playing dirty politics on Telangana issue and resorting to cheap comments against the political rivals. 

"He is trying to keep one leg in Musi river and another leg in Krishna river. The people will not believe him any more," Ummareddy said. 

Commenting on the fast eroding support base of the TDP, he pointed out that during the last four years, the party had contested in elections for 46 assembly seats but lost deposits in 26 places. 

"It shows how Chandrababu has lost all credibility in the eyes of the people," Ummareddy said.
