On the 60th day of her ‘Maropraja Prasthanam Padayatra’, YSR Congress leader Sharmila crossed over into Mall town bordering Ranga Reddy district on Friday evening, four hours behind schedule and launched into a diatribe against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government and targeted the Congress and Telugu Desam parties, while addressing a public meeting.
She claimed that the Kiran Kumar Reddy regime appeared to be the part two of the administration headed by Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu.
She challenged the TPD legislator Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu’s claim that she did not undergo knee surgery and said she was prepared to touch his feet if his contention was correct. Would he do the same if proved that she had indeed undergone a surgery?
Sharmila, who was seen walking with a knee band, kept greeting and waving to passersby, including women and children.
She stopped briefly for roadside chats with people, exchanging pleasantries.
‘Rajanna Rajyam’
Addressing the meeting, she sought to support the cause of farmers by pointing out that they were the worst sufferers of the uncertain power supply.
She assured the gathering that the woes of the people would end only if ‘Rajanna Rajyam’, headed by her brother and Kadapa MP Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy was formed after the elections.
The YSR sibling, who has so far walked over 852 km, will cover 132 km in the district, touching Devarakonda (7 km), Munugode (39.5 km), Nalgonda (24 km), Nagarjunasagar (33 km) and Miryalaguda(33.5 km).
