The bail petition of YSRC party president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been posted to Sep 28 by a Supreme Court bench comprising Justice Aftab Alam and Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai. The bench said it was yet to study the CBI's counter affidavit in the case. Gopal Subramaniam, former solicitor general of India argued on behalf of the YSRCP president.
The Apex Court questioned the CBI on three counts.
- The need to arrest Jagan when the latter was already co-operating with the investigating agency
- The discrepancies between the figures mentioned in the FIR and those on the charge-sheets that were filed
- The time needed by the CBI to file a supplementary charge-sheet.
