The YSR Congress party has taken it with a pinch of salt the statement of AICC in-charge of Andhra affairs Digvijay Singh that Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and his party leaders had the DNA of the Congress party.
Jagan’s sister and YSR Congress party leader Y S Sharmila reacted strongly to Digvijay’s comment aimed at confusing the people.
“Definitely, Jagan does not have the Congress DNA. His DNA is nothing but credibility. When YSR who had sacrificed his life for the Congress party died, the party leadership had forgotten his services and included his name in the FIR of the Central Bureau of Investigation. It is to keep up his word given to the people and uphold YSR’s ideals, Jagan came out of the Congress party. How can Digvijay say that Jagan has the Congress DNA?” she asked.
Another YSR Congress party leader Perni Nani wondered if Jagan had the Congress DNA, whose DNA Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu had, as the latter had been protecting the Congress party despite being an opposition leader.
“It is unbecoming of Digvijay to pass such comments like DNA. All over the country, many people came out of Congress and had started separate parties due to difference of opinion. Even Chandrababu Naidu was with Congress though switched sides for selfish reasons,” he said.
